Failover

[Last Updated: Feb 21, 2016]

Server Software

Failover is an operational mode of a software system or network server cluster.

When this mode is active, the system switches to a standby backup system on failure without losing functionality.

The backup system is a replica of the currently active system.

The failure could be technical one or scheduled down time.

Each runtime component of the system should be replicable to support this mode.
